Description | For woman of noble rank, everyday wear, 42-35-15/20 belong together, white cotton woven in three pieces with cat stitch over seams, solidly embroidered upper front back and shoulders in red cotton with yellow and a little green in conventionalized double eagle design, four appliqued green silk discs with embroidered center appliqued rays with embroidered edges around neck. As per Sigrid Meier, "Warp: 52, single ply, Z twist, 1 strand, white cotton. Weft: 28, single play, Z twist, 1 strand, white cotton. Plain weave, 3 pieces joined with decorative stitch, 4 selvedges. Made on a backstrap loom." |
