Description | Belt for man of noble rank. Heavy, closely woven, corded, red cotton with brocaded band on ends. Brocade of double headed eagles in magenta, yellow and green. Fringed ends. 42-35-1/5 are part of one costume. As per Sigrid Meier, "Warp: 34 epi, two singles, Z twist, red cotton. Weft: 16 ppi, two singles, Z twist, red cotton. Warp predominantly plain weave. Supplementary weft is two faced. Woven on a backstrap loom." |
